Public Cloud Model

Public Cloud makes it easy for the general public to access the systems and services. IT giants like Google, Amazon and Microsoft offer cloud services over the Internet.

  • Public Cloud provides a shared platform which is accessible through an Internet connection to the general public.
  • Public cloud worked on the pay-as-per-use basis and the third party, i.e., cloud service provider, administered.
  • In the Public cloud, many people are accessing the same resources at the same time.
  • Public cloud is owned, managed, and run by, or a mixture of, companies, universities, governmental organizations.
  • Definitions of the distributed cloud include Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), Microsoft Azure, the IBM Blue Cloud, Sun Cloud, and Google Cloud.

Advantages of Public Cloud

There are the following advantages of public cloud -

Public cloud has a smaller expense than private, or hybrid cloud, as it shares with a vast range of users the same resources.

Virtual cloud is independent of position since the resources are provided over the internet.

Under Public Cloud, the cloud service provider is responsible for running and operating data centers where data is processed, helping cloud users to save time to connect, launch new software, release system upgrades, install and build servers.

Organizations will conveniently buy and deploy public cloud on the market, then customize it remotely within a few hours via the cloud service provider.

Open cloud offers the opportunity to customize computer resources elastically, depending on the needs of the enterprise.

Public cloud offers users scalable (easy to add and remove) and reliable services (24*7 available) at an affordable cost.

  1. Low Cost
  2. Location independent
  3. Save Time
  4. Quickly and easily set up
  5. Business Agility
  6. Scalability and reliability

Disadvantages of Public Cloud

Public Cloud is less safe because of public sharing of data.

Quality in the public cloud is based on the level of internet connectivity.

The private cloud is less customizable than the public cloud.

  1. Low Security
  2. Performance
  3. Less customisable
