1. XQuery is a functional language for programming and querying and is used to query XML details. XPath is an xml path language which uses queries to select nodes from an xml document.
2. XQuery is used to retrieve and interpret data from either xml or relational databases and ms office documents that help an xml source of data. XPath is used to compute values from certain xml documents, such as strings, numbers, and boolean types.
3. The xquery is defined as a tree model with seven nodes, including instructions for processing, elements, document nodes, attributes, namespaces, text nodes and comments. xpath is described as a tree structure, navigate through various nodes.
4. Xquery supports the xpath and expanded models of the relation. xpath remains a Query language component.
5. Xquery language supports syntax new xml documents. xpath was developed to describe the the xpointer and xslt syntax and behavior model.
